چکیده
The IEEE 802.15.4 protocol defines the medium access control layer of Zigbee, a widely implemented WSN technology. This implements both guaranteed time slot (GTS) scheme, where note request for slot(s) to transmit their packets collision-free and contention-based scheme nodes randomly draw back-off counter win channel access. paper analyzes performance schemes in WSNs when an event is detected packet arrival rate network increases using delivery ratio(PDR), throughput latency as quality service parameters. We consider various densities (4, 9 16 within common transmission range). Simulations Castalia 3.2 shows GTS has better PDR than 4 network. However, dense (16 nodes), increases, outperforms scheme.

Multi-channel Medium Access Control Protocols for Wireless Sensor Networks: A Survey
Extensive researches on Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs) have been performed and many techniques have been developed for the data link (MAC) layer. Most of them assume single-channel MAC protocols. In the usual dense deployment of the sensor networks, single-channel MAC protocols may be deficient because of radio collisions and limited bandwidth. Hence, using multiple channels can significantly ...

A Wireless Sensor Network (WSN) is a wireless decentralized structure network consists of many nodes. Nodes can be fixed or mobile. WSN applications typically observe some physical phenomenon through sampling of the environment so determine the location of events is an important issue in WSN. Wireless Localization used to determine the position of nodes. The precise localization in WSNs is a co...
متن کاملOptimizing Channel Access for Event-Driven Wireless Sensor Networks: Analysis and Enhancements
We study the problem of medium access control in domain of event-driven wireless sensor networks (WSNs) [17]. In this kind of WSN, sensor nodes send data to sink node only when an event occurs in the monitoring area. The nodes in this kind of WSNs encounter correlated traffic as a subset of nodes start sending data by sensing a common event simultaneously. We wish to rethink of medium access co...
متن کاملPerformance Analysis of Channel Access Model for Mac in Randomly Distributed Wireless Sensor Networks
Medium Access control (MAC) is one of the fundamental problems in wireless sensor networks. The performance of wireless sensor network depends on it. The main objective of a medium access control method is to provide high throughput, minimize the delay, and conservers the energy consumption by avoiding the collisions. In this paper, a general model for MAC protocol to reduce the delay, maximize...
